Miss Kitty’s celebrity tour

Posted: Saturday, September 10 at 03:37 pm CT by Kari Huus

SLIDELL, La. -- We were dispatched here to collect Miss Kitty, not the feline herself, but a videotape of her reunion with her owner Bill, a story that Michael and Andrew discovered and shared on this blog. That video will be making its way to this site as soon as technology permits. Keep checking back. Jim is performing that magic -- employing a colorful stream of invectives -- as we drive back toward Baton Rouge.

Meantime, I am happy to report that we were able to meet the fluffy grey-brown cause celebre and her rescuers Horace and Donna. They report that she was “de-flead” this morning, and they are taking her on a social outing later today. Upon Bill’s request, Miss Kitty will visit Red Cross workers at the shelter he was in until he was hospitalized. She will also pay a visit to Bill’s 87-year-old mother in Slidell. Horace and Donna are clearly thrilled to play a continued role in the reunion. But first, they headed out on a rescue call that involved some turkeys, ducks and a cat.

We are heading back in the direction of Baton Rouge on I-12, which skirts the north side of New Orleans.
