Remembering Saddam's Capture
On Dec. 13, 2003, the U.S. military caught up with Iraqi President Saddam Hussein who had been in hiding since the beginning of the U.S. invasion. NBC News' Richard Engel recounts his tour of Saddam's "spider hole" and the tiny farmhouse where he lived in squalor for the Daily Nightly blog's special series "Real To Reel."

Suicide attacks and murders due to sectarian conflict continue around Iraq. See how residents live their lives amid the attacks.

A very sad but, true thing to say, 'Iraq was better off when Saddam Hussein was in power'. At lease then the people were not blowing themselves up daily. Six in one hand, Etc... My Wife says, "Saddam knew how to keep those people in line".
Very sad.
Always,

Truth be told even though Saddam Hussein was a brutal leader of Iraq there was more stabilty when he was in power- so much so that his own people want him back to stop the volience there!

The problem in IRAQ is not the Freedom Fighters but the blood thirsty hords that have catapulted the violence to new highs daily. What we as Nation have to do is respect our President for setting the average IRAQI free to live. Yes, Yes scores are being murdered, but is not our troops fault-it is the IRAQi's who are to blame just like in Vietman! Maybe even Rumy has to sholder part of the blame, but not GWB. Our President asked for a plan, and a follow through strategy. Yet all he was given was strategy, to have our troops getting killed daily which is evident via our nation's mediaists. So what now, cut and run? To this, I say no no way, increase the troops strenght being deployed. On top of that, I say get Washington pundits out of the decicion making process-let the our military do what they signed up to do, fight!!!

The President should have set the people in Darfur and Sudan free first. They needed it more, but they didn't have any oil. What a shame!
He KNEW that the claims of Yellow Cake being imported to Iraq were from an unreliable source and yet he relayed them as fact to the American people.
Why is it that the war supporters always come from the poorest states? The states that rely on the taxes contributed by "cowardly liberals" to stay solvent?

If we are to respect Bush for 'setting Iraqis free', you must also disrespect him for reducing the rights of americans, condoning torture and most of all blatnatly lying to us.
Oh yeah...where is Osama Bin Laden...you know, the guy who actually attacked us?
Bush said he would get BinLaden. Failure. THe man can't even speak well.

Saddams captures was a milestone that was hailed almost inclusively by the Republican politics who support Bush, while others shrug it like another ordinary day mostly by the Democrats. I believe we are seeing a trend in terms of the deminished quality of elected officials. If they cannot seems to be in unison in praises and significance on Saddams capture then God have mercy on us all. Nothing Bush can do to satisfy his critics even with the capture of Saddams. I do not believe critics (mainstream media)negative perceptions about President Bush will ever change even if he successfully got Osama Bin Laden because their hatred on him is beyond fixing.
